DonDominio

Designated Agent or DA

Since December 1, 2016, the current regulations stipulate that any change of holder or modification of their name and surname, organization, or e-mail in .gTLD domains (.com, .net, ...) or ngTLD (.viajes, .blog, ...) will initiate an ownership change process that must be accepted by both parties.

What is the "Designated Agent"?

To facilitate this process, it is possible to assign DonDominio as the Designated Agent or DA to carry out the changes on behalf of the domain holder, so once a contact with this feature enabled is added as a new holder in a domain or a domain ownership change process is initiated where they are assigned as the holder, we will carry out the acceptance on their behalf automatically.

It is important to note that this only affects that specific contact, not the other contacts that may be associated with the customer account.

Moreover, if both contacts have this feature enabled beforehand, the ownership change will be carried out instantly, without the need for intervention by the affected contacts.

What should I do to activate this feature?

It is important to emphasize that you can only assign DonDominio as the Designated Agent during the domain ownership change process. For this, you will simply need to request an ownership change and activate this feature during its acceptance. From then on, if the contact for whom you have activated this option is the holder or new holder involved in an ownership change from your customer account, we will accept this change for you without the need for intervention on your part.
