The ability to check the ownership of a domain will depend on the type of domain (TLD) and its configuration.
A Whois query can be made, for example, with our Whois lookup tool, to try to determine the ownership (Registrant) details of the domain. However, in most cases, that information will be hidden by default or using a Whois Privacy data hiding service.
In some extensions, such as the .ES domains, the name of the owner is normally shown in the Whois (without other contact details like phone or email). In cases where no information is shown in the Whois, that information remains private and is not accessible except by the person who administers the domain.
