Import a website with Web Constructor
If you already have an external website and would like to bring it to DonDominio and edit it with the web builder, you can do it now thanks to the web import functionality.
How does the importer work?
We simply need to provide the URL where our website is currently hosted, the importer will perform an analysis of the website content, intelligently detecting code, images, css, etc. and adapting it to the web builder format.
This way, we ensure that Titles, menus, links, etc. once imported, are displayed correctly.
It should be noted that after the import, we may need to make some minor adjustments, generally, unless the websites are very complex, the adjustments will be minimal.
What type of website can I import?
The import tool is perfect for static websites, because with dynamic websites like WordPress, the main problem we'll encounter is that only the website visible to the visitor will be imported, and we will lose the administration area.
In addition, we can import websites created with major editors like WIX, Weebly, MiWeb, etc...
Steps to perform the import
To perform the import, once we are in the domain control panel, we will access our web builder and in the template view, we'll see the option to import any site.
We will hover over it and enter the URL.
Next, we will click on import and the process will begin, which may take a few minutes to complete.
Once the import is completed, we will have the website in our web builder and we can proceed with the final review.
As we can see in the example, after the import some texts have become misaligned. Thus, we only need to correct the small misalignments from Web Builder until it suits our preference.
Thanks to the importer, we have managed to complete a task that could have taken us hours or days in just a few minutes.
