Technical requirements
.SK domains require the DNS to be active on different subnets and to be authoritative for the domain at the time of registration.

Registrations
Residents in Slovakia: In order to be able to register a .SK domain, the registrant must fill, sign and send a document, this document can take up to one day in order to be available for download. It can be created from here. The document must be sent together with a business certificate (for organizations) or the copy of the ID-Card/Passport (for natural persons), and have to be sent directly to the address below by postal mail:

Transfers
To complete .SK domain transfer, you'll need your current registrar to provide you the domain's AuthCode or EPP-Key to verify the ownership of the domain.
Transfers can take between 5 and 7 days to complete. Some registrars provide manual transfers allowing transfers to be completed on the same day, contact your current registrar to find out if they offer this service.

Renewals
The renewal of .SK domains is different than with other extensions.
It's necessary to request the domain renewal at least 2 days before the domain expiration.
In case the renewal request is done after this date, the correct renewal is not guaranteed.
Cancellations
It's possible to request a cancellation of your .SK domain, visit the support center to open a support ticket. Please note, cancelling a name does not provide a refund of any registration fees.
DNS modifications
DNS modification is immediate, please note they must propagate through the network, this process can take up to 6-12 hours to complete, until then the domain will still point to the previous DNS servers.
Domain owner change
.SK domains permit automatic owner changes, you'll be able to change this data from your client area.
Permitted characters
- .sk domains permit characters from 'a' to 'z', numbers from '0' to '9' and hyphens '-'.
- A hyphen '-' is not permitted in the first or last position of the domain name.
- Two consecutive hyphens are not permitted in the 3rd and 4th position.
